Life as a travel medical professional is full of adventure. It is a life many people would love to live, but never get the chance. I have lost count of how many times I been told that I have a “dream job”. However, just like any vacation or starting a new job, there is a lot more that goes into the process from the planning to job interviews to packing and the list goes on. I started Travel Med Adventures to assist not only new and experienced travel medical professionals with navigating life on the road but to also help family, friends, and anyone else interested in learning more about this journey.

Over ten years ago, I started my personal journey as a travel physical therapist. Since then the jobs have taken me from ocean beaches to snow-covered mountains to deserts and to many other places in between. I have met many wonderful people along my journey and have learned to experience places instead of just seeing them.

Some wonderful people I have met along my journey are my travel job recruiters or “travel agents”. I have learned that many times in the process of travel medical jobs the role of the travel job recruiter can be overlooked. By working with travel job recruiters on numerous travel job assignments and participating in recruiter Q&A sessions, I have become more familiar with the integral role they play in the process. As I start creating this website, I hope to use their feedback to provide a better understanding of the travel medical professional’s journey.

As I look back to when I started working as a travel physical therapist, I never dreamed I would still be traveling more than ten years later. However, I have come to enjoy this journey and have figured out how to navigate some the unexpected curves, roadblocks, and detours. I have learned that not only can I enjoy each adventure, but I can also try to leave each place a little better. Life is not just about what I get out of it, but how I can help others. I hope as I start this new journey that I can use my expertise as a seasoned travel medical professional to help you learn and become excited about life on the road as a travel medical professional.
